I have been so bad about posting to dreamwidth. I seriously left livejournal this year and went to tiktok. it gets all my attention and I've built up a following and post every day. but there are still things I need to WRITE DOWN, so they don't get lost, and writing is better for me, so...
last weekend we had a visit from the new mexico stepkid! marc's daughter, who I thought we might never see again because it's a hell of a drive out and she's always gravitated towards the southwest, that region, that part of the family. but she and her boyfriend wanted a touristy kind of weekend and made the trip. I was happy, we might have to visit them now.
we got out of the house. we went to exploration place, the art museum, riverside park. I tried to get mom to take us to botanica. we got them a pass for christmas, but she thought it'd be "too cold" because it was in the 50s or so. sigh.
we took them climbing at the ymca. they are 24 year olds. I have only belayed 11 year olds, and my 44 year old husband. they were FAST and had no trouble getting up the 30 foot climbing wall.
the 60 foot climbing wall that we loved so so much was at the andover ymca. it was destroyed by the tornado I wrote about in april :(
we aren't doing anything solid this memorial day weekend. I'm running - I have a 10K next weekend. we'll visit some places. the kids are all done with school. no more 3rd grader/6th grader, I will now have a 4th grader/7th grader.
